Xander Lavelle Harris is the epitome of comic relief. Whenever in a serious and potentially life-threatening situation, he can always be counted upon to deliver a sarcastic/flippant/inane/inappropriate response. He plays up to this role of the class clown, but in reality he’s actually quite intelligent- possibly not in terms of math, but more in terms of seeing the things that others don’t. He becomes known as the ‘heart’ of the Scooby gang, because of his talent for perception and his ability to be there for people when they need it- even if he lacks the more impressive powers of Willow or Buffy for example. Xander is quite an insecure person, having grown up in a family of alcoholics and having been quite a geek and suffering ensuing bullying throughout school, which is another reason he hides behind witticisms and sarcasm, it’s a sort of self-preservation tactic. Xander sometimes worries about not matching up to or being as good as his friends, especially when they go off to college and he doesn’t, doing various oddjobs instead, and then moving into construction, but it turns out that his basic practicality is often useful- he can fix things, and not just things made out of wood, he often imparts good advice and is a problem solver. He’s not much of a ladies’ man, in fact he’s pretty inept when it comes to women, due to his intrinsic awkwardness and general inability to be anything resembling suave. He has a talent for attracting demon women of all shapes and sizes however, and is generally unlucky in love, often with hilarious consequences. He is mostly an amiable person with a strong sense of right and wrong, who loves his friends. The Details | This is an RP journal for pretendy funtiem games only!
